CONCERNED CITIZENS OF ABRA FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT
The Concerned Citizens of Abra for Good Government is a non-government
organization established in 1986 as a civil society watchdog whose main
objective is to promote good governance. Formerly linked with the
NAMFREL, CCAGG took up the cudgels of working with their local
government through the monitoring of the Community Employment and
Development Program (CEDP) of the National Economic and Development
Authority (NEDA). The CCAGG saw this as an opportunity to help ensure
that the poor living conditions of their fellow Abrenians would be
properly and genuinely addressed.
In the course of monitoring government projects, CCAGG was able to
uncover irregularities in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
This eventually led to the prosecution of involved government officials.
To this day, CCAGG has already become an expert in infrastructure
monitoring with its intensive and extensive experience in the field. In
recognition of CCAGG’s expertise, the National Economic and Development
Authority and the Commission on Audit acknowledge and consider the
submissions (monitoring reports) of CCAGG in preparing their evaluation
reports.
